Naomie Pieter

Choreographer Naomie Pieter is a queer and anti-racist activist whose work centers on making space for the intersections of those communities. She is the founder of 'Black Queer & Trans Resistance NL', who organized the first Black Pride demonstration during the Pride Week in Amsterdam in 2020. as well as the initiator of Pride of Color Amsterdam, the first committee within Amsterdam Pride that focuses on the inclusion and empowerment of bi-cultural LGBTIQ+. 

She was co-organizer of the epic Black Lives Matter protest on Dam Square in Amsterdam on June 1, 2020, where hundreds of people were expected, but more than 10.000 came to demonstrate, after the death of George Floyd in the USA. She's often threatened by alt-right and extremist groups, but always stands strong and is never afraid. Respect.
